De Doorns in HDR

Yesterday we took a drive out to the Hex River valley. The idea for the trip was to visit old friends. A cousin of mine and his wife accompanied us as they had not seen these friends in a very long time.

These friends own a farmstall just on the outskirts of De Doorns called: Veldskoen Padstal. We spent an wonderful morning with them reminiscing about old times and had a fantastic breakfast which was finished off with a piece of Cheesecake that was so heavenly we wanted more…

The shop sells gifts, farm produce, dried fruit, wines and lots more…

They have a wonderful tea garden as well. This is definitely a recommended stop for those traveling in between Johannesburg and Cape Town. On the other hand if you just want a lovely morning out, take a drive as we did, over Sir Lowrie’s Pass, through Grabouw, Villiersdorp and Worcester onto the N1 and 20 kilometers outside Worcester you find the town of De Doorns. Drive straight past De Doorns and just over the rise as you start to descend the hill you see in the distance a cluster of trees to the left. Slow down and turn in. You won’t regret it.

I took a few photos around their property using the HDR technique. Here are the results.
